Owing it to yourself, something that’s important but rarely thought about. We all owe someone something. We owe a rent payment, a car payment, a mortgage payment, phone payment, but what about ourselves?
Have you ever asked that question before? We all owe someone something. We owe a rent payment, a mortgage payment, a car payment, etc. But what do we owe to ourselves?
Do you owe yourself a healthy body? Do you owe yourself healthy food everyday? Exercise?
Do you owe it to yourself to set aside time everyday to pursue your passions?
Owing It To Yourself – What Do You Owe You?
Today, take a pen and paper and write down the things you feel you owe to yourself everyday. Think about them hard. They have to be things that give you a healthy mind, body, and make you happy.
Here’s an example:
- Exercise at least 4 days per week
- Eat healthy with a one cheat day or cheat meal per week included (your choice)
- Focus more on yourself and self improvement
- Pursue your goals
- Get enough sleep
These aren’t things that are hard to accomplish on the surface, but they take commitment and in many cases, sacrifice. You may not see your friends as often, you may have to practice quitting many of your bad habits.
Self improvement, like anything else isn’t a straight line. You’ll be up, you’ll be down, and you’ll be wondering where it’s all taking you, but know that it’ll only be good, and that future you will thank you for it.
There are 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week. No matter your schedule, you have to make YOU a priority. You have to do everything you can to put your mind and body in a good place.
