Those that are successful at every aspect of life check the ego at the door.

I go to the gym pretty often, usually five days a week. I see a lot of guys (and girls) there at different stages in their fitness journey. Some of I’ve seen for years, others are new. One thing that’s a constant with those that are successful in their training is that they leave their ego’s at the door.

These guys don’t come in looking to bench press the heaviest weights the gym has, or dead-lift four times their weight. They come in, lift heavy but safely, have good form, don’t go on their phones and don’t try chatting everyone up.

Too many guys come into the gym, do a set, then go on their phone for 10 minutes taking selfies. These guys aren’t serious. They’re at the gym to be seen, nothing more.

Check The Ego At The Door

This not only applies to the gym, but to anything else in life, whether it be going on a date or to a job interview. Check the ego at the door, it’s not their to help you at all. In fact, it does more damage than anything else.

Remember that you are an apprentice in life, we all are, and we are constantly learning new things from those that have dedicated themselves to mastery in certain fields.

To continue your self improvement, check out the books that I have listed in the store. These will undoubtedly help you in your journey.
