If there’s one thing that makes guys hate going to the gym it’s that they get bored of their workout routine. Changing your workout routine is critical to seeing progress.

The same routine over and over again, week in and week out can slow your progress and eventually has your brain checkout.

Woof. Sounds horrible.

Another issue is guys doing too many workouts during a gym session, waiting around for equipment, and spending time on their phone.

Jumping from chest, to triceps, to pull-ups. While this is good, at some point your central nervous system is going to be overloaded. When this happens, you will no longer be able to do the workouts. This is real, no matter what anyone says. It happens.

The reality is for men, they really only need a few key compound exercises to see sustained growth. The key is to continually add more weight and change when you do it.

Shoulder Press

Dead-lift

Squats

Chest Press

Barbell Row

The only other workout a man needs is a pull up, not to be confused with a chin-up. If you’re just beginning though, you may have trouble doing a pull-up, so you can focus on a lateral pull-down using cables.
